Tubes Tubes

If you haver read our blog before you then you know we have had ear issue after ear issue. Brooklyn had an ear infection the week of Halloween. She worked on that one for about a month(meaning she had fluid in her ear that was not infected yet). So we finally broke down and got the ENT referal. It was hard for us to do because the ear infections are seasonal so far. I decided to do it for two reaons. 1. I was becoming concerned that her hearing would start to be effected. and 2. I can't take off 2 days with every ear infection.

At the ENT they did a ear drum test to see out much movement the ear drum has because it has to move to hear. She had one ear drum with no movement. Now remember she had not been off antibiotics but for about 10 days. So needless to say he strongly recommended tubes because her two allergy meds weren't doing it. Not only that but he urged us to do it quickly and even fit us in before Thanksgiving. We went to see Dr. Frank at 2:00 on Tuesday the 17th, and had tubes put in on Thursday the 19th at 7:00 in the morning.

After all was said and done I find out that out of 10 cousins on my mom's side there are 7 2nd cousins. Brooklyn is number 6. The 5 older than her all have tubes and baby Kamden got his first ear infection this week!! Why didn't someone tell me this last Spring and we would have thrown in the towel then!!!

Brooklyn did great. They said we would go back to get her and she would be screaming and we probably would not be able to calm her down. Well she only screamed when her cup ran out of juice. Once they filled it up she was fine.

The dr. said she would hear lots better because he drained lots of thick chicken broth like stuff off of both ears!! We are very hopeful!!
The pictures below are from my phone so they are sort of blury. Sorry.

On Tuesday at the ENT office.
Mommy had to share with daddy some afterwards.
